About Mind Lab Kids

Mind Lab Kids allows kids to access a bunch of suuuper fun learning challenges, all of which are completely doable at home.

We want to give kids agency to lead their learning in a direction that they choose, by putting those after-school hours and standard home technologies (brimming with unused potential) to use!

So here it is, folks - and you can thank us later for repurposing all that baking soda, tin foil, cardboard and other household items that usually lie around the pantry.

Who better to sum up the site than our founder Frances Valintine? Her vision for Mind Lab Kids is to “take technology-enabled, home-based learning to the world” - and we’re making that vision a reality, ‘cos that’s what we do at The Mind Lab!

Frequently asked questions:

Who created this platform?

The Mind Lab! We’ve been at the forefront of education innovation, contemporary practice and the pursuit of highly relevant, applied knowledge for kids since we launched in 2013.

How does the platform work?

The Mind Lab Kids platform allows kids to watch our Educators share a challenge step-by-step. They then get the chance to watch videos uploaded by other kids of their attempts to solve it... After that, it’s their turn to get busy creating and recording a video for other members to watch!! Easy peasy.

Can more than one child share an account?

We believe every child should shine with their own video fame! We recommend parents/guardians create a user for each child, so they can have their own channel for their videos and can keep track of their favourite videos to watch again... When setting up an account, a parent/guardian can add up to 4 children as users to that account, giving them all separate profile pics and usernames.

What details will I need to create an account as a Parent or guardian?

The process is quick and easy: we’ll need the usual parent/guardian name and email, as well as payment information and then you’ll go on to set up your child as a user. Here you’ll need a username, your child’s year of birth and an optional profile image or avatar. The system will generate a password so your child can login.

No further information is required and your kids can then login with their newly created username and password and get creating!

If I haven't received a confirmation or reactivation email what do I do?

Start with checking your spam folder just to make sure it hasn't been caught in there. If you still haven't received it please email support@mindlabkids.com with your full name and child’s name/s.

What about the serious stuff, like keeping my kid’s personal details private and secure?

First and foremost we are committed to protecting data and to online security. For further details please read our Privacy Policy here.

If I don't qualify for a free subscription, how does the subscription work?

To subscribe you simply need to fill in your credit card details and you will have access to all the current videos straight away. Keep your subscription active to receive new challenges, responses and knowledge over time.

At any time you choose, you can cancel your subscription by going to your billing page located within the Parent/guardian account. Please note, your credit card payment will be charged at the start of each subscription period for the fees and taxes applicable to that period, as a recurring payment. To avoid future charges, please cancel before the renewal date. There are no refunds or exchanges.
